JEIFA announces decision to shortlist two new categories for consideration for inclusion in the JEIFA Awards program:  Best Camera Operator Award and Best Stunts/Stunt Coordination   Posted January 2, 2023

The JEIFA Institute recognizes that a key responsibility in being a part of the film awards continuum is to continually assess the categories in its awards program.  After the institution of the JEIFA for Best Casting in 2020, JEIFA instituted rules to better assess when it is time to expand or contract the list of awards.   Today, JEIFA is pleased to announce that it is enacting those procedures for the first time to assess the inclusion of two categories: One recognizing the contributions of Camera Operators and one recognizing the contributions of Stunt Coordinators and Ensembles.   JEIFA has pre-established that should they be added, Best Camera Operator will be classified as a technical award and Best Stunts/Stunt Coordination will be added as a Contribution/Breadth category.   JEIFA will study the viability of these categories over the next few awards cycles and ultimately make a decision in future.

JEIFA adds new category recognizing achievement in Casting  Posted January 31, 2020

The JEIFA Institute is pleased to add a category recognizing the efforts of Casting Directors to the JEIFA Awards programs. This long-awaited change was made possible by recent additions of Casting Directing awards that add enough metrics for the JEIFA Institute to establish nominees from a diverse set of perspectives.  As the number of achievement in casting directing awards is limited, JEIFA established a unique metric for this award and looks forward to its evolution as recognizing Casting Directing becomes the norm rather than the exception in awards programs across the spectrum
